Praia da Zavial is an undeveloped seaside bay situated between Sagres and Lagos in western Barlavento. A small road leads from the N-125 at Raposeira to the picturesque village Hortas do Tabual. Praia da Zavial is located another mile down the road. Good parking possibilities are found towards the western end of the bay

The beautiful swimming beach Praia da Ingrina is located outside the village Hortas do Tabual in Barlavento, shortly before reaching the south-western tip of the Algarve. Since the entire region is a nature reserve, not many hotels have been built here in the coastal region between Burgau and Sagres, unlike other parts of the Algarve

Praia da Luz, a half-mile-long sandy beach, is located directly before Luz, approx. 5 mls west of Lagos. The sheltered beach is well suited for children and is enclosed by a large, dark rock massif on the one side, and a small villa community on the other. Various water sports activities, for example diving, also attract visitors

During the summertime, \"beach buses\" leave Lagos every hour and head a few mls south to Praia Dona Ana. The beach is 200 m long and accessible via a stairway. It is situated in a slightly curved half-circle formed by the surrounding cliffs, and during the tourist season more visitors come here than is probably good for this beautiful spot

Located near Lagos is one the Algarve\'s most famous beaches, Meia Praia. This beautiful sandy beach stretches for over 6 miles along Lagos Bay. It is an ideal holiday destination for families with children as there is much to keep the little ones occupied such as investigating the flotsam and jetsam washed up onto the shore, collecting shells, building sandcastles or even feeding the seagulls.

The massive beach in front of the village fringes the eastern half of Lagos Bay. There are sand dunes ending to the famous Algarve Cliffs. Acres of wide open sand, popular among windsurfers, offers enough space for Beachvolleyball, football, Frisbee, walking and talking
